There can be a variety of reasons to seek private therapy. Often times schools and early intervention programs require certain requirements be met in order to be eligible for therapy. These requirements may include test scores, a certain percentage below average, a difficulty or deficit that directly impacts school performance, etc. Some children have difficulties or deficits that are not captured by standardized testing or may not directly impact their school day. These children may still need or benefit from speech-language therapy.
Other children and their families may need more support than their school or early intervention program is providing them.
